In November 2025, Cantrell Schuette obtained a court order dissolving a non-compete injunction against its clients in a non-compete case in Jacksonville, Florida. As context, in early 2025, Next Science LLC sued nearly a dozen former workers and two companies, alleging breach of non-compete provisions contained in employment agreements and claims for tortious inference. The lawsuit was filed in the Circuit Court of the Fourth Judicial Circuit in Duval County, Florida.

Next Science, which claims it operates a wound care durable medical equipment (DME) business, sought as part of the lawsuit to obtain an injunction against many of the former workers and one of the companies. If successful, many of the workers who were sued would have not been able to continue with their new jobs.

By successfully and quickly obtaining a court order dissolving the injunction, none of the former workers represented by Cantrell Schuette are prevented from continuing with their new jobs. This non-compete defense result is very favorable for our clients.
